Established in 1999, Bellapelle and GH Leather were founded as the vision of Greg and Lois Hochhauser to bring together an offering of the finest leather to the U.S. market, giving artists and interior designers access to the best leather quality, with personalized and vested customer service.

From tanneries in Austria, to the importing of fine leathers in New York, Greg is the fourth generation of Hochhauser leather men.  Greg brings a vast knowledge of “all-things leather”, from the technical processes and applications, to a privileged circle of sources from all over the world. 

His best matching partner, Lois, brought to the business her ample background in fashion, working for many years as a buyer for notable specialty shops such as Sakowitz in Houston and Stanley Korshak in Dallas. Her keen eye for color, texture and trends, provided Bellapelle an easy transition from just leather trade to an exceptional offering for interior design hides.

Together, the couple works to bring the very best product and service to their clients.  By working closely with clients, listening to their needs, educating them in leather, Lois and Greg advise with wisdom and creativity every single client who visits Bellapelle.

It is their goal to continue their family traditions by staying committed to selecting only the best and delivering fair trade practices to the interior design industry.
